VOLVO Trucks Belgium_ design & renders

2022
Ghent, Belgium
Internship @OYO Architects

The Volvo office building near Ghent. The client, Volvo Trucks, wanted to renovate the office building. I joined the project halfway through, and my tasks included drawing plans, designing facades and creating renders. Later on I also designed some interior spaces, like the shop, auditorium and a kiosk. I was also responsible for planning the landscape in front of the building, including parking areas and roads. This was one of the first projects I worked on at OYO, and it continued until the end of my internship.

VOLVO 2 _ Design

The second Volvo office building near Ghent, located in the same industrial park. The client, Volvo Trucks, wanted to renovate and expand the office building. I joined this project from the very beginning and was the sole team member working on it alongside my project manager. We initially developed three scenarios for Volvo.

The first scenario involved minimal changes, where the building’s volume remained essentially the same, focusing primarily on facade updates and reconfiguring internal functions.

The second scenario was a middle ground between the first and third, involving more significant changes to the building’s volume and substantial internal reorganizations, along with a new facade.

The third scenario was almost an entirely new building with a large, protruding atrium. However, about a month before my internship ended, the client decided to abandon this scenario due to budget constraints. Throughout the project, I worked on the concepts and plans for all three scenarios, and later focused mainly on the renders. I was also responsible for planning the landscape in front of the building, including parking areas and roads. This project continued until the end of my internship, and I handed it over to a colleague when I left.
