In the tetrahedral grid course, I learned to experiment more with geometry and also how to create something unique when everyone is given the same triangular grid. The goal of the course was to design and build a stool/chair that can support a person’s weight. My chair consists of tetrahedral elements that form triangular modules, which in turn combine into supermodules. The supermodules are connected to each other with wooden dowels. We also had to imagine our chair on a human scale, meaning it would be a house. My chair-house is more of a pavilion or summer house, with the first floor functioning as a garage and the second floor as a living space. From the so-called “roof terrace,” one can enjoy the surrounding views.
